Arroyo de la Miel is now part and parcel of Benalmadena Costa as, over the years, what was an small, traditional town in its own right has been extended with a large addition of modern apartment blocks plus, as a natural course, many bars and restaurants to cater to the massive influx of mainly British self catering holidaymakers that pack the town throughout the year.

The RENFE costal railway has a station in the heart of the Arroyo resort and a two minutes walk from the train station is Tivoli World, the best family entertainment park on the Costa del Sol which is a paradise for children and offers nightly live entertainment for all the family. Opposite the entrance to Tivoli World is the unique tourist attraction, the Telecabina (Cable Car), which goes up to the highest point in the province of Malaga with views across the Mediterranean to North Africa plus the Rock of Gibraltar. Arroyo de la Miel has a wealth of great restaurants and bars not only Spanish and UK eating venues but dozens of ethnic restaurants. Arroyo is also a true residential town with a large working population, great shopping, medical centers, post office, banks, and, soon to open, the only Ice skating rink on the Costa del Sol combined with an Olympic sized indoor heated swimming pool this in addition to its large Municipal Sports Centre, with many all year round sporting activities and facilities.
