Torremolinos, one of the best known of the Costa del Sol resorts and certainly one of the longest established destinations, suffered in the 90’s and gained a reputation for hectic party going and rowdy tourists. The resulting bad press led to a decline in popularity and the major UK holiday companies switched their clients to the neighboring resorts of Benalmadena Costa and Fuengirola this caused the local authorities to invoke massive improvements to Torremolinos and its image.


The town centre has been modernized and the famous shopping street, Calle San Miguel, is now a walk only attraction for the thousands of visitors that have returned over the past couple of years this, combined with a five mile long clean beach that has plenty of quality Chiringuitos, Torremolinos has regained its place as a major tourists destination and is back in the top three most popular resorts of the Costa del sol.


The beaches that front the resort are busy during the summer with families that come to take their annual vacations here every year. No more wild party reputation now we see holiday makers that are mainly families and, in the winter months, retired couples making the most of the sun with temperatures often reaching into the 30oC's.


Beach front cafés offering snacks and lighter meals, plenty of bars and general restaurants plus an active night time entertainment scene when the sun goes down.


The area around Calle San Miguel is a delight with small streets of small shops and cafés; reminding us of the original Torremolinos which was a fishing village, and is still retains the unique atmosphere. Some of the Costa del Sol’s finest fish restaurants are located on the sea front and most Sunday’s you reserve or you don’t eat!
